Thanks for storing this knowledge in your tip (to be found by googling for my forgetful mind). That's a fairly quick fix by using Control key which worked. There's a more involved fix requiring Killall Dock, I'm vaguely remembering, but that's what caused the problem for me this time. All just to update my stack icons...!!!
